Configure Netscape for Mac

Netscape 4

Bring Netscape to the front and choose Preferences from the Edit menu. The Preferences window will appear, with all the various settings represented by a list running down the left side of the window. Scroll down that list and select the Mail Servers item.

Locate your mail server in the right pane of the window and double click it. The Mail Server Info window will open. Make sure that the Check for mail every X minutes checkbox is not checked (if you want automatic checks, set them up in Spamfire). The window should look something like this:

Apply this setting to every email account you want to filter in Spamfire.

Netscape 6

Bring Netscape to the front and choose Mail & Newsgroups from the Tasks menu. Your inbox window appears. Now choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings... from the Edit menu. Locate your mail server in the list and expand it if necessary to show all its settings. Select the Server Settings. In the right pane of the window, uncheck Check for new mail at startup and Check for new messages every X. The window should look something like this:

Apply this setting to every email account you want to filter in Spamfire.

Spamfire cannot trigger a mail check in Netscape 6 because Netscape 6 lacks the needed AppleScript support.
